The Church’s Call During a Global Pandemic in an Election Year

Being a church member or a church leader calls us to do things in ways that are often counterintuitive: love our enemies, forgive, speak up and stand up even when it’s uncomfortable.

Before COVID, many churches were focused on how to navigate the uncertainty of lower worship participation, fewer families, and less income. Some churches were considering how to be true to the gospel yet living out that gospel in innovative and participatory ways.

I recently wrote an article for Faith+Lead* in which I explored a few of my thoughts and perspectives bringing together our current context (the month before a heated election, COVID, racial tensions) and learnings from my doctoral thesis in 2017.

Take a look at the article referenced below. I welcome your thoughts and reflections on how we may continue to grow in faith with our primary focus on our identity as fellow members of the body of Christ.
